Funding, News and Announcements

The US Department of Defense has released pre-announcements for several anticipated funding opportunities. These pre-announcements are shared to allow investigators time to plan and develop ideas for submission to the anticipated FY21 funding opportunities.

Several opportunities will be for lung cancer research with funding between $100,000 and $1.2 million USD. Sample areas of research include:

• Identifying innovative strategies for prevention of the occurrence of lung cancer
• Understanding contributors to lung cancer development other than tobacco
• Identifying innovative strategies for lung cancer care delivery (clinical management/surveillance/symptom management)

Several opportunities will also be available for research relevant to military health with funding between $200,000 to $7.2 million USD over several years through the Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program.

Full details, including the eligibility of Canadian researchers, will be shared by ORS when the official funding announcements are launched.
