IDRC: Global Call for AI Governance Solutions

CIFAR and IDRC are seeking a global team of cross-sectoral, interdisciplinary experts to design and develop solutions for governing responsible artificial intelligence (AI) in low-middle income countries.

Applicants must include a team of at least six international, cross-sectoral experts, with at least one member from the low-middle income setting where the solution is applied and at least one member from Canada.

The successful Solution Network will receive three years of dedicated, flexible funding support for eligible research and development activities. This includes:

  • $60,000 Cdn. per year for each co-director (up to two);  
  • $25,000 Cdn. per year for each core team member (up to four) to support R&D related to the Network;
  • Up to $60,000 Cdn. for each year to support collaborative efforts directly associated with advancing the network’s activities;
  • Financial and logistical support for meetings (either in-person or virtually) twice per year.
