Late Applications – Notice to Dalhousie Researchers

Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on March 9, 2020 in Announcements

The Office of Research Services (ORS) is required to review, and in many cases submit, research funding applications. As posted on our website, for grant application review, ORS requires a minimum of five business days. For grant applications requiring a Letter of Support and/or institutional commitments and signatures, we request a minimum of ten business days.

In addition to reviewing the application and providing feedback, ORS staff are required to review the application on behalf of the university. In our experience and tracking of application rankings and success rates, we have noted that reviewed applications have a significantly better chance of being funded.

We understand that application preparation is time consuming and unexpected delays can happen. If you know you cannot submit your application to ORS in time, please contact us as soon as possible to request an exception and explain application submission requirements. Please copy your Dean or Associate Dean Research so all are aware.

Please note, with no advance notification, ORS cannot guarantee signatures, especially on deadline day.
