Ethical Conduct
Adhering to the highest professional standards
Ethical conduct of research, as described in the Tri-Agency Framework, is a commitment by researchers to honest and thoughtful inquiry, rigorous analysis, dissemination of research results and adherence to the highest professional standards in order to create a positive and productive research environment.
In practical terms, this principle involves:
- conducting research involving humans in an ethical manner
- ensuring proper animal care and use
- engaging in research integrity practices around data management, supervision and attribution
- safe and responsible handling and use of hazardous materials required for research purposes
At Dalhousie University, we are committed to providing support and guidance to the research community in each of the four key areas above.
