Our Process for Establishing Research Partnerships

3-4 weeks using Dalhousie’s template agreement. If substantial negotiations are required, extended timelines can be expected.

Research collaboration agreements are used to formalize industry-sponsored research partnerships. Generally in these cases companies are seeking a research and development (R&D) partnership to establish competitive advantages in the marketplace (e.g., solving a specific problem in response to an industry need for fundamental research, and/or testing and further development of a technology).
* An OCIE Manager will assist in navigating the process map below.
Note for Researchers: OCIE will assist you in preparing your Statement of Work, Deliverables and Budget Proposal (including applicable overhead).
