Participation in the Network enables all scholars to engage in local leadership and community engagement activities, and to form a dynamic community of Queen Elizabeth Scholars – locally at Dalhousie, nationally and internationally.
Active participation in the QES Network enriches the program experience of scholars, through enhancing collaborative capacity and deepening peer relationships among both alumni and current participants in the program.
Features of the QES Network at Dalhousie include:
- In person:
- An annual social event on campus, bringing together current and prior scholars and interested campus and community representatives;
- The involvement of alumni Canadian scholars and/or incoming scholars from partner countries, in pre-departure orientations and debriefing activities with current Canadian scholars.
- Online via:
- the QES World Map
- the National QES Network Tagboard
- our QES scholars’ own blogs or other communication mechanisms
- communication tools used by Dalhousie implementing units, such as MAP Matters (the newsletter of the Marine Affairs Program) and the Global Health Office’s blog.
