First few weeks
Over the first few weeks you can expect to have further clarity of your role and performance expectations, and how the probation period will be administered.
- Your supervisor should prepare an ACHIEVE plan specifying the deliverables and development plan. The ACHIEVE program [login required] supports Dalhousie employee achievement, development and success through meaningful work-related conversations. Departmental priorities will be shared, and tasks will gradually start to be assigned. Necessary learning, which will be required to do the role, will also be assigned/planned.
- Dalhousie has a set of Core and Leadership Competencies [login required] for setting expectations. Competencies are a set of defined behaviours that provide a structured guide for enabling the identification, evaluation and development of the behaviours in employees and leaders.
