Important: Leaving Residence

At the end of the Fall and Winter terms, you are required to leave residence 24 hours after you've completed your final exam. This is to ensure a quiet and productive study environment for those still writing exams. Please keep this in mind when making travel arrangements.

August 15 Summer Residence closes at noon (Halifax campus)
August 17 Summer Residence closes at noon (Truro campus)
August 21 TRURO CAMPUS: RA Move in (by invite only)
August 18 Last day for DalCard Online Photo Submission to guarantee cards are ready for pickup in residence. International students: submit your DalCard photo by Aug. 16 to have it ready for when you can move-in.
August 23 Deadline to complete your Books in Residence order.
August 23 HALIFAX CAMPUS: Early move-in available for international students. By request only.
August 26 & 27 TRURO CAMPUS: Early move-in available for international students. By request only.
August 29-31 Move-in period. By appointment only.  (Truro campus August 31 only)
August 29 HALIFAX CAMPUS: Residence dining halls open at 4:30 p.m. for dinner service 
August 31 TRURO CAMPUS: Residence dining halls open at noon.

Note: Jenkins Hall will be open limited hours during orientation for meal times only.

September 2024

September 2 Labour Day – University closed but residences remain open for students moving in

Important: End-of-Term Residence Closures

All residence buildings close immediately after exams in December and April. Please pay particular attention to dates for residence closure at the end of term and make your travel plans AFTER you know your own exam schedule.
