Senate standing committees

The purpose of the Senate Discipline Committee (SDC) is to hear all complaints or allegations of violations of academic integrity as well as misconduct.

The purpose of the Senate Appeals Committee is to hear student academic and discipline appeals.

The purpose of the Senate Nominating Committee (SNC) is to oversee the nomination of Senate officers and Senate standing committees members.

The purpose of the Senate Planning and Governance Committee (SPGC) is to provide oversight of university-level academic planning and priorities.

The purpose of the Senate Academic Programs and Research Committee (SAPRC) is to oversee quality assurance of academic programs.

The Senate Learning and Teaching Committee oversees the approval of academic regulations, establishes policies and priorities in relation to the teaching and learning environment, monitors students’ educational experience, and establishes policies in relation to academic and non-academic appeals and disciplinary processes.

The purpose of the Senate Honorary Degrees Committee is to advise Senate on the awarding and revocation of honorary degrees.
