The approval of new programs, modifications of existing programs and terminations of programs.
Approving the granting of degrees and diplomas.
Creation, review and termination of Faculties, Centres, and Institutes.
Setting academic regulations at the university level.
Establishing the Academic Calendar.
Governing student conduct and discipline, including academic integrity.
Granting honorary degrees.

The Constitution is interpreted in accordance with the Statutes of Nova Scotia relating to Dalhousie University, which specify the jurisdiction and authority of the Senate.
